We have been living with the pandemic for over two years. Organizations continue to operate in their ‘new normal’, which includes more flexible working situations and reduced hours of operation.

The Davidson Group provides five thoughts on working with pandemic concerns and ever-changing restrictions.

1. COVER YOUR COUGH
As your Mom would say, use a tissue and wash your hands often. Do not come into close contact with others if you are not feeling well. It is still a good idea to carry a mask and some hand sanitizer.

2. TO MEET OR NOT TO MEET
We used to spend a considerable amount of our week in physical meetings. The pandemic ushered in a flood of Zoom and Microsoft Team virtual meetings. Organizations still have a wide variety of working conditions. Before you schedule a meeting, consider the objectives of gathering people together. This should dictate if you meet in person or virtually.

3. PARETO PRINCIPLE
This principle states that approximately 80% of outcomes result from 20% of causes. Organizations and employees should schedule time to reflect on their to-do list. More importantly, you should prioritize what projects are mission critical (and ones that do not require equal attention).

4. RETAIN YOUR TALENT
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, voluntary turnover in 2021 was 25%, and that trend has continued in 2022. This highlights the importance of keeping your top talent, who hold enormous amounts of institutional knowledge. Take time for employee appreciation events to let them know they are valued.

5. ENSURE COMPLIANCE
Changing times require an overview of your Human Resource (HR) practices. Contact the Davidson Group at 336-294-5053 to ensure your HR processes are compliant and robust.
