The long holiday weekend is here! Around 95% of companies will be closed on Monday, September 2 in observance of Labor Day. Established in 1894 as a federal holiday, this day honors the contributions of American workers.
Here are five things that companies should consider doing to celebrate Labor Day.
- Close the office early on Friday to give employees a little more time to relax during the holiday weekend.
- Plan a company lunch on Friday so employees can enjoy fellowship – and a free meal!
- Write appreciation notes for each employee. This should come from the direct supervisor or company owner, depending on the size of the organization.
- Take time to celebrate employee accomplishments and work anniversaries.
- Bring in coffee and breakfast treats.
