National Hispanic Month is being celebrated from September 15th to October 15th. President Johnson started the week-long celebration in 1968, and President Reagan extended it to a month in 1988. This month recognizes the contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans.
Hispanics make up 18% of the American workforce, and projections estimate there will be 35.9 million workers by 2030. This is the largest ethnic group in the United States, and they come from a variety of countries.
Here are some ways that organizations can honor their Hispanic employees.
- Have a Hispanic-themed lunch.
- Support a local Hispanic charity.
- Host a webinar of Hispanic culture and history.
- Recognize the achievements of Hispanic employees.
- Host a panel of Hispanic employees to discuss their career journeys.
