David Hammer, SPHR, SHRM-SCP
The Davidson Group is headed by David Hammer, a senior level Human Resources professional with over 30 years of management and HR experience, including several years as a Vice President with a Fortune 500 company and 15 years of successful contract/consulting work. He is an honors graduate of UNC Chapel Hill, with both a BA and an MA, and he holds the highest certification available from the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM).
He has worked with over 50 client companies across the Southeast in a wide variety of capacities, including conducting assessments of existing HR departments and serving as an outsourced VP of HR for small and mid-sized firms. He provides a cost-effective option for providing highlevel HR assistance to companies of all sizes in all industries. Over 90% of his clients have retained him for additional assistance following the initial assignments.
In addition to his consulting work, David provides hands-on experience in managing every facet of Human Resources. He helps companies with recruiting/staffing, employee relations, policy development, compliance, management development, succession planning, benefits administration and HR strategy. His expertise has benefited clients, ranging from a single manufacturing plant to an entire coalition of business units with over $240MM in sales. David’s experience spans all business types and industries. He has worked with unions, domestic companies, international corporations, start-ups, corporate downsizings and mergers/acquisitions involving multiple operating divisions.
David is recognized as a problem solver who brings innovative and cost-effective solutions to meet specific business needs. With an outstanding track record of bottomline HR results, he brings an understanding of the role of HR in supporting a business. His no-nonsense, practical approach ensures that HR is a business contributor.
